First conceptualized in 2020 during the height of the lock down in Melbourne, OFFWORLD AESTHETIC (OA) has a very simple and straight forward objective.

 

We strive to ethically and inclusively create the highest quality product we can.

How do we do that?

1. Materials are sourced locally in Melbourne.

2. Make use of recycled & reclaimed materials to minimize environmental impact.

3. Designs and prototypes are non-gendered.

4. We wear our own designs regularly, and vigorously test and update them.

5. Sizes overlap, so nobody is caught between sizes..

6. It's not ready 'til it's ready - we commit to never releasing a half baked concept.

7. Consider metal allergies and list exact materials in use.

8. Listen to and consider community feedback.

Between us here at OA we have allergies, health conditions and disabilities that put us at odds with the fast-fashion industry on a regular basis. However, using our shared experience it puts us in a unique position to do something about it. Between a decade-long  administrative background, and honed and proven textiles craftsmanship, we're confident in delivering what we ourselves would wear with pride.

In addition to all that, we are straightforward, transparent, and open with our operations. We aim for our site to be accessible as possible and consider text formatting, sizing, and coloration. As much as we love stars, we have a specific dislike of site design that feels like looking directly at one.
